Noerr is once again Germany's most innovative law firm and among the top ten most innovative continental European law firms. This was the conclusion of the "FT Innovative Lawyers 2011" jury of the British Financial Times, which included Noerr as the only German law firm in the "FT Law 50", as in 2009. This was in particular contributed to by Noerr's multidisplinary structure and its conversion to an LLP. Law firms from across Europe and the USA are assessed in terms of the innovation and efficiency of the services they provide to their clients in the annual FT rankings.
Noerr scored particularly well in the "FT Innovative Lawyers 2011" categories "Efficiency" and "Strategy": in the category "Efficiency", for example, the jury was impressed by a legal solution to significantly facilitate internal IT outsourcing for German insurers, navigating the rigid situation dictated by Germany's criminal code. This solution was developed by the Munich-based IT law specialists Prof. Dr. Peter Bräutigam, head of the Noerr Outsourcing/ IT Outsourcing Group, Dr. Thomas Thalhofer, and the corporate criminal law expert Martin Schorn. "With our approach, it is not only possible to avoid criminal law risks, but also to achieve synergy effects", says Bräutigam.
In the category "Strategy" Noerr likewise achieved the award level "Commended" for its human resources project "Noerr 2o15", with which the law firm is positioning itself "employer of choice". The Noerr LLP partners responsible for human resources, Dr. Karl Rauser and Dr. Thorsten Reinhard, launched this comprehensive project in summer 2009. "For our commitment to offer our clients first-class service we have to recruit, retain and develop the best legal talent. With 'Noerr 2o15' we are tackling this issue systematically and creatively", says Reinhard.
Noerr’s Co-speaker Dr. Dieter Schenk was also pleased about Noerr being selected as one of Europe's leading innovative law firms: "Not just our strategy of being a multidisciplinary, pan-European law firm with a proactive approach to advising clients has allowed us to become the second-largest independent German law firm, but also the courage to break new ground. We are naturally very happy that this has been recognised by the 'FT Innovative Lawyer 2011' jury." Co-speaker Tobias Bürgers added: "Excellent legal advice is not just based on expert knowledge and the application of law. Understanding the current - and future - business needs of clients to be able to developed appropriate legal solutions is at least as important. Many law firms claim that they are innovative. With the inclusion into the FT-Ranking, the market has confirmed that we really are".

For the third time in succession, Noerr has been honoured by the jury of the prominent legal association International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards (ILASA) as "best German law firm". Noerr received the "Gold Award 2011" together with Gleiss Lutz at a gala in Paris.
More than 120 legal department heads of international groups made the award again this year. On the jury were representatives of companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Coca-Cola, General Electric, Nestlé, Philips, SAP and Total. They assessed more than 200 law firms from all industrial and developing countries.
Criteria for the award were advice in transactions, the profile and experience of the M&A partners and teams and the strategic, financial and personnel development of the law firm as a whole. "The distinguished jury, by the repeated selection of Noerr as the best German law firm, shows that our strategy of continuous high quality and our focus on relevant business areas is well received by clients" commented Dr. Thomas Schulz, Co-Head Corporate at Noerr.
The ILASA award is already the second as outstanding law firm this year. The British online service International Law Office (ILO) selected the law firm in spring for the "Client Choice Award 2011" for Germany. The prestigious award was based on a survey of more than 2,000 in-house counsel.

The British online service International Law Office (ILO) today selected Noerr LLP for the Client Choice Award 2011 in two categories. The law firm is the national winner for Germany and, in the Munich partner Dr. Hans-Peter Zier, an acknowledged eastern Europe expert was honoured for his work on the Russian market. The Client Choice Awards are given internationally to law firms and lawyers in 64 countries on the basis of the assessment of more than 2,000 in-house lawyers.
The ILO Awards are regarded worldwide as among the most prominent distinctions for law firms. Among the partners of the online service – which makes information on legal services available in its portal to companies – are many international lawyers’ chambers and associations including the German Lawyers Association (DAV). According to the ILO, the prize is given to law firms and lawyers creating real added "value to clients' business above and beyond the other players in the market."
"These awards have weight, the honest opinion of the clients is expressed. They are, therefore, simultaneously an honour and an incentive and underline the claim of our law firm 'Excellence Creating Value'", said Noerr Speaker Tobias Bürgers. Bürgers is particularly pleased with the award for Zier: "The excellent standing of Noerr in Central and Eastern Europe is also due to the commitment of Dr.Hans-Peter Zier. He has contributed substantially to our success in the new markets." |
