Noerr is once again Germany's most innovative law firm and among the top ten most innovative continental European law firms. This was the conclusion of the "FT Innovative Lawyers 2011" jury of the British Financial Times, which included Noerr as the only German law firm in the "FT Law 50", as in 2009. This was in particular contributed to by Noerr's multidisplinary structure and its conversion to an LLP. Law firms from across Europe and the USA are assessed in terms of the innovation and efficiency of the services they provide to their clients in the annual FT rankings.

Noerr scored particularly well in the "FT Innovative Lawyers 2011" categories "Efficiency" and "Strategy": in the category "Efficiency", for example, the jury was impressed by a legal solution to significantly facilitate internal IT outsourcing for German insurers, navigating the rigid situation dictated by Germany's criminal code. This solution was developed by the Munich-based IT law specialists Prof. Dr. Peter Bräutigam, head of the Noerr Outsourcing/ IT Outsourcing Group, Dr. Thomas Thalhofer, and the corporate criminal law expert Martin Schorn. "With our approach, it is not only possible to avoid criminal law risks, but also to achieve synergy effects", says Bräutigam.

In the category "Strategy" Noerr likewise achieved the award level "Commended" for its human resources project "Noerr 2o15", with which the law firm is positioning itself "employer of choice". The Noerr LLP partners responsible for human resources, Dr. Karl Rauser and Dr. Thorsten Reinhard, launched this comprehensive project in summer 2009. "For our commitment to offer our clients first-class service we have to recruit, retain and develop the best legal talent. With 'Noerr 2o15' we are tackling this issue systematically and creatively", says Reinhard.

Noerr’s Co-speaker Dr. Dieter Schenk was also pleased about Noerr being selected as one of Europe's leading innovative law firms: "Not just our strategy of being a multidisciplinary, pan-European law firm with a proactive approach to advising clients has allowed us to become the second-largest independent German law firm, but also the courage to break new ground. We are naturally very happy that this has been recognised by the 'FT Innovative Lawyer 2011' jury." Co-speaker Tobias Bürgers added: "Excellent legal advice is not just based on expert knowledge and the application of law. Understanding the current - and future - business needs of clients to be able to developed appropriate legal solutions is at least as important. Many law firms claim that they are innovative. With the inclusion into the FT-Ranking, the market has confirmed that we really are".
