Three Nörr Corporate lawyers have been awarded the Global M&A Award, the M&A sector's "Oscar", for advising on the structuring of participations in the first German special purpose acquisition company ("spac"). The US American publication "The M&A Advisor" awards the prize to companies, banks and law firms in various categories each year.

Last year, Dr. Alexander Ritvay, Dr. Thorsten Reinhard and Dr. Benedikt von Wissel, all Berlin, advised the sponsor LCP1 and the management team of the first German spac on structuring its participations in the spac, christened "Germany1". A spac is a company listed on the stock exchange which acquires operative companies like a financial investor. Investors can participate in it as shareholders.

US investment bank Houlihan Lokey was the most successful candidate, receiving a total of four Global M&A Awards. Financial investor Blackstone and the Yes Bank each received three of the coveted awards. The Nörr team came first in the category "Professional Services (B-to-B focus) Deal of the Year".
