The Japanese industrial engineering group Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd. has acquired all the shares in the German Demag Ergotech GmbH, a manufacturer of injection  moulding machinery for processing plastics. A Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz team led by Dr. Christoph Spiering advised Sumitomo on the acquisition in Germany, Russia and Poland – and together with Morrison & Foerster (Lex Mundi) in the USA. The contracts were signed last Friday. The seller is the KraussMaffei Group, which, in turn belongs to the Madison Capital Group, Chicago.

According to Demag, the company had turnover of 316.5 million Euro and 1,775 employees in 2006. The Cartel Office has already issued approval.
