Lidl takes over all Romanian and Bulgarian branches of its competitor Plus. An international Noerr team led by the Munich corporate lawyer Dr. Gerald Reger advised the chain store on the acquisition of the shares in the various companies, signed on 19 February 2010. The seller is the Tengelmann Group. The purchase price is confidential. The approval of the European cartel office must still be obtained.
With this transaction, the Lidl network in Romania increases by 119 shops and by 20 in Bulgaria in addition to warehouses and administration. Other branches in both countries which are still under construction must also be added. Lidl will continue with these projects.
