The Noerr Group acts in the successful rescue of the automotive supplier FPK Lightweight Technologies Berlin
With the support of the Noerr Group, the insolvent automotive supplier FPK Lightweight Technologies has been rescued. IMR Deutschland GmbH, a strategic investor, takes over the works in Peine and continues the complete business. Almost all jobs are retained.
Noerr provided both legal and management advice in the course of the restructuring. Andreas Sand of Noerr Consulting AG acted as the restructuring managing director involved in the continuation of the business during the insolvency proceedings and thereby contributing to establishing the conditions for the solution which has now been found. He also participates in the purchase negotiations on behalf of FPK Lightweight Technologies. Noerr’s consulting arm specialises in financial and management restructuring advice and dealt for example with the successful restructuring of the solar manufacturer centrotherm. A team of Noerr LLP led by Dr. Till Kosche provided legal advice to the Insolvency Administrator Tobias Hoefer of HOEFER SCHMIDT-THIEME.
IMR Deutschland GmbH, a subsidiary of the Italian IMR Industries Group, takes over the entire assets of FPK Lightweight Technologies including the real estate in a transferring restructuring. Most of the current 125 employees are retained. In a restructuring collective bargaining agreement, the present facility is secured up.
FPK Lightweight Technologies made the insolvency application in February 2014. The company is specialised in lightweight components from compounds for leading car manufacturers and most recently had a turnover in Germany of approximately 21 million Euros. The new owner, the IMR Group, has approximately 1200 employees in six works in Italy, Spain and Southern Germany.
