Julia Sophia Habbe

Dr Julia Sophia Habbe is a partner at Noerr’s Frankfurt office and heads the Compliance & Investigations practice group together with Dr Torsten Fett. She has extensive experience in complex regulatory, criminal and internal investigations and advises on process and crisis management in the aftermath of such investigations. Her lead mandates include conducting complex cross-border investigations in the context of ESG-Compliance around the topic of Diversity & Inclusion. Julia Sophia Habbe represents listed and family-owned companies and their management bodies in compliance cases, in particular in the area of their accountability and liability. Another focus of her work is advising on corporate and capital markets law issues, including handling legal disputes before supervisory authorities and courts. Before joining Noerr, Dr Julia Sophia Habbe worked in the Frankfurt office of a leading international law firm in the areas of dispute resolution and core corporate. She also completed secondments in the legal and compliance department and with the litigation and regulatory enforcement team of two international banks in Frankfurt am Main. She is a member of the Commercial Law Committee of “Deutscher Anwaltverein” (DAV) and she regularly publishes articles on corporate, capital markets and civil procedure law issues.

  • Hertha, Berliner Sport-Club (Hertha B.S.C.) e.V. & Hertha BSC GmbH & Co. KGaA: Advising the club and the limited partnership on shares in the context of the reporting by the Financial Times on a suspected campaign against the then club’s president 
  • CLAAS KGaA mbH: Internal process-oriented investigation concerning the compliance with the sanctions imposed by the EU against Russia
  • Commerzbank AG: Advising the supervisory board and investigating the responsibility of the management board members for penalty payments in the US
  • Deutsche Börse AG: Advising the supervisory board on suspicion of insider trading by the former chairman of the executive board
  • DAX 40-Company: Advising the management board on possible claims for breaches of duty by employees in connection with years of global corruption practices in the group, which had already been the subject of settlements with US authorities; internal investigation of the events and their legal processing according to German and respective local law; coordination with the lawyers of the supervisory board with regard to the examination of a possible liability of the executive bodies
  • Deutsche Bahn AG: Advising the executive board in regard of investigations of consultancy agreements with former members of governing bodies of group companies
  • Deutsche Bahn: Various internal investigations for group companies, including advising the respective governing body
  • Regional bank: Advising the management board and investigating the responsibility of the supervisory board members in connection with the purchase of structured products
  • DAX 40-Company: Advising the management board in connection with allegations of misconduct in communications by a member of the management board
  • DAX 40-Company: Advising the management board regarding allegations of possible gender and sexual discrimination against employees by other employees
  • Company from the online service sector: Advice in connection with allegations of sexual misconduct by a member of the management board; clarification of the facts and legal analysis
  • Initiators of closed funds: Representing the client in court (through all judicial instances, including German Federal Supreme Court) and settlement negotiations in connection with legal action by investors; supporting over 120 proceedings in total; preparing and helping to conduct contentious general meetings
  • Various banks: Defence against claims arising from the purchase of financial products
  • Capricorn Nürburgring: Representing the race track company in court against an events agency in regard of arising claims from a festival collaboration
