30.09.2019

Starting from 1 October 2019 companies only may be represented before Russian arbitrazh (commercial) courts by lawyers and other legal advisors having a Russian university or academic law degree. The same requirement applies to the representation before Russian courts of common jurisdiction (save for cases considered by justices of the peace and district courts). The documents confirming the Russian university or academic law degree must be provided to the court together with a power of attorney.

The above rules do not apply to statutory representatives as well as to trademark and patent attorneys in IP disputes, insolvency managers during performance of their duties in bankruptcy cases, and other persons specified by law.
