Berentzen refinances bond using syndicated loan: Noerr advises banking syndicate on financing

13.01.2017

Noerr has advised a banking syndicate led by Deutsche Postbank AG on the financing of beverage manufacturer Berentzen. The other syndicate banks providing credit lines totalling more than €25.5 million included Bayerische Landesbank and Santander Bank. Under the syndicated loan agreement, a €50 million bond issued in 2012 is in particular to be refinanced. The company will settle the remaining €24.5 million from its own equity capital.

The Berentzen Group has just under 500 employees and generates a turnover of more than €160 million. Apart from its internationally famous umbrella brands “Berentzen” and “Puschkin”, its portfolio of spirits also includes established traditional German brands such as “Doornkaat”, “Bommerlunder”, “Hansen Rum” and “Strotmann”. The Berentzen Group is increasingly focusing on non-alcoholic drinks and juice extractors used in industry, alongside liqueurs.

The team led by Andreas Naujoks provides Deutsche Postbank AG with regular advice on syndicated financing, most recently for Golfino AG, the FINOBA Group, INTOCAST Group and Diskus Werke AG, for example.
