Jan-Philipp Meier (37) is joining Noerr from DLA Piper on 1 May, continuing Noerr’s expansion in Hamburg. The firm just recently reported the move of restructuring expert Simone Schönen from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer on 1 August.

Jan-Philipp Meier will be working for the Corporate/M&A practice group in two important fields: M&A transactions and corporate litigation. He is specialised in cross-border M&A transactions and advises international companies, in particular tech companies, as well as family companies from the greater Hamburg region. Jan-Philipp Meier also advises and represents international and family-owned companies in disputes before arbitration tribunals and national courts.

At Noerr Jan-Philipp Meier will work on transactions together with the Hamburg office heads Volker Land and Christoph Spiering and on corporate litigation matters with Matthias Stupp: “Jan-Philipp Meier has close ties to Hamburg and has a wealth of experience in international transactions and corporate litigation cases,” says Christoph Spiering emphasising: “He is therefore a perfect fit for our team here in Hamburg.” On his move to Noerr Jan-Philipp Meier says: “Noerr’s Hamburg office has in a very short time become one of the market’s strongest and most dynamic players. I very much look forward to working with my new colleagues here in Hamburg and at Noerr’s other offices.”

Jan-Philipp Meier and Simone Schönen are the latest additions to the now 32-strong team of Noerr lawyers in Hamburg, which includes seven partners and three associated partners. Further new hires are due for announcement very soon.
