JUVE nominates Noerr for award as Law Firm of the Year, Law Firm of the Year for M&A and Law Firm of the Year for Banking & Finance

21.08.2020

Legal publisher JUVE has nominated Noerr in three categories for this year’s JUVE Awards: Law Firm of the Year, Law Firm of the Year for M&A and Law Firm of the Year for Banking & Finance.

JUVE’s awards are regarded as the most important awards on the German legal market. Noerr last won the most prestigious award, Law Firm of the Year, in 2014. JUVE’s editors praised the firm at the time, saying its success was the result of setting a strategic course at an early stage. They noted that Noerr had continuously improved its access to well-known major companies and grown into a leading European law firm.

The firm, which was formed in Munich in 1950 and now has 16 offices in Europe and the USA, has consistently pursued this strategy over the past years. The firm has managed to double its turnover to around €250 million over the past ten years.

Leading international legal publishers have also recently presented the firm with several awards, most lately Chambers (German Law Firm of the Year 2020) and The Lawyer (European Law Firm of the Year 2019).

“The numerous distinctions and the current JUVE nominations are an honour and also an incentive for us,” said co-managing partner Alexander Ritvay. “Our key focus is on quality and ensuring that our clients are satisfied.”

“As an independent law firm, we have worked hard to achieve this prime position in Germany and Europe,” added co-managing partner Torsten Fett. “Through our strategy of investing in strategic growth fields such as regulated industries and digitalisation of the economy and focusing on quality, we have managed to secure prime positions in the M&A rankings and to win a large number of financing matters .”

The six-monthly figures recently published by financial information services Bloomberg, Mergermarket und Refinitiv have once again confirmed the leading position of Noerr‘s Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions practice group both in Germany and Central Europe; JUVE last awarded Noerr the title of Law Firm of the Year for M&A in 2014 and 2010.

The Banking & Finance practice group, which was previously honoured by JUVE as Law Firm of the Year for Banking & Finance in 2017 and 2012, is continuing to experience dynamic growth and has attracted attention with instructions from clients such as the European Investment Bank (on loans to developers of Covid-19 vaccines).

The JUVE Awards will be presented on 29 October 2020 in the form of a video broadcast. They are based on research carried out by specialist editors for the JUVE Handbook, which will be published in a revised edition at the end of October.
