New Equity Partner – Noerr expands capacity in compliance and commercial and tax criminal law with Lars Kutzner

With a prominent new arrival, the law firm Noerr increases capacity in compliance and commercial and tax criminal law significantly. On 16 February,  Dr. Lars Kutzner will join the Frankfurt office of the law firm as an equity partner. Up to the present, he headed the tax and commercial criminal law practice group at PwC Legal. At Noerr, Kutzner will, in addition to advising on criminal law, further develop tax compliance and international compliance.

“At Noerr, commercial and tax criminal law as well as compliance and  internal investigations are top of the agenda and grow very strongly year by year. I look forward in particular to cooperating with the market-leading compliance team, which we intend to expand significantly”, said  Lars Kutzner. Together with the team’s tax lawyers, he will above all further advance advice on tax compliance. “The demand for tax compliance programs not only from banks and financial services providers is continuously increasing. We will react with an expansion of our capacity” explained Kutzner. The work of the new Noerr partner will also focus on the development of the cross-border business.

Noerr integrates the central compliance issues in the Compliance Group led by the Frankfurt partner Dr. Torsten Fett. The Group, consisting of over 40 lawyers, tax advisors and auditors from all offices provides clients with preventative advice on establishing and improving compliance systems and on the conduct of internal investigations and the associated commercial criminal law advice.

As well as further developing the compliance business, commercial and tax criminal law advice is the other important area of Lars Kutzner’s work. “We are very pleased to have gained in Lars Kutzner a prominent criminal law expert for Noerr”, emphasised Michael Molitoris, Co-Head of  the Litigation, Arbitration & ADR Group. “Especially in Frankfurt, we observe increasing demand from banks and companies for criminal law expertise.
