Noerr advises die Bayerische insurance group on replacing software systems

06.03.2018

With a team from its Digital Business Group, Noerr has advised Bayerische IT GmbH (BIT) on a complex IT case. The subsidiary of the insurance group die Bayerische is planning to completely replace its current applications and the data administration for the insurer’s composite business.

BIT provides the group companies of die Bayerische with IT and consulting services, hardware, software, as well as telecommunications devices and contracts. By introducing modern applications for products, inventory and claims, the plan is to create the basis for efficient digitalisation of all distribution channels. To this end, the core systems for the administration of composite contracts are to be replaced with the V’ger Enterprise insurance platform of NOVUM GmbH. The new administration systems will be operated at the existing data centre of die Bayerische and under the insurer’s own responsibility. The NOVUM Cloud service V’ger Sky will additionally be used.

Noerr advised BIT comprehensively in this case. The instruction included preparing and drafting the contracts and assisting the client in the contract negotiations.

With its Digital Business Group, Noerr offers its clients advice on all legal issues relating to the subject of digital business, ranging from IT and data (privacy) issues to distribution, trade and media law aspects, and digital compliance. The group is headed by Thomas Thalhofer and Karl Rauser.
