Noerr again advises US group AVX on strategic takeover in Europe

05.04.2018

Noerr has advised AVX Corporation once again in connection with a strategic takeover in the European market. The US group is taking over KUMATEC Sondermaschinenbau & Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH (KUMATEC) through its group company AVX Interconnect Europe GmbH.

KUMATEC specialises in the development and production of automation technology as well as in production processes for plastic parts. As part of the transaction, AVX is also taking over a 50 per cent interest in KUMATEC Hydrogen GmbH & Co. KG, a joint venture in the areas of development, production and marketing of water electrolysis systems for producing hydrogen/oxygen which was established in connection with the transaction between future AVX-held KUMATEC and the sellers.

The transaction is still subject to clearance by the antitrust authorities.

Only last year, Noerr advised AVX Corporation on a strategic acquisition. At the time, AVX acquired a division from English electronics manufacturer TT Electronics for approximately US$155m.
