Noerr is further expanding its Banking & Finance practice group: Alexander Schilling (36) joined Noerr’s Frankfurt office as an Associated Partner on 1 February. He comes to Noerr from Allen & Overy.

Alexander specialises in advising on national and international investment grade financing, acquisition and leverage financing, as well as promissory note loans. He advises both banks and companies and has comprehensive experience in advising on financing aspects in connection with spin-offs and mergers. “I am very pleased that we have been able to recruit Alexander for our financing team,” says Andreas Naujoks, who heads Noerr’s Banking & Finance practice group. “His expertise and wide-ranging practical experience will enable us to further consolidate our leading position when it comes to advising banks and companies on financing.”

The practice group has been able to significantly increase its market presence in recent years and on account of this success story Noerr just recently received the JUVE Award as “Law Firm of the Year for Banking and Finance Law”. “Our investment in renowned lateral hires and our own talent also contributed to this,” emphasises Naujoks. Tom Beckerhoff, for example, likewise joined Noerr’s Frankfurt office as a partner in 2016 and in 2017 the practice group at Noerr’s new office in Hamburg was strengthened by the financial supervisory law expert Kai-Michael Hingst. In addition, Noerr recently appointed one its own lawyers, Michael Schuhmacher, as an Associated Partner at the beginning of this year. Investment law specialist Martin Haisch also joined Noerr in Frankfurt as a tax law partner.

“Noerr’s Banking & Financing practice group is one of the particularly dynamic teams on the market and has been very visible, not least in connection with innovative and complex financing transactions,” emphasises Alexander Schilling. “I am therefore very much looking forwarding to working with my new colleagues at Noerr.”
