Noerr is strengthening its presence in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) as it is further expanding its Prague office. Noerr has on-boarded a team of 5 lawyers, all of them have formerly worked with PWC Legal.

The team is led by the former Prague PWC Legal Managing Partner Bořivoj Líbal, who will be an associated partner at Noerr and will co-head the Prague office together with Barbara Kusak. The long-standing Prague-based Noerr partner and office head, Barbara Kusak, will in future concentrate more on expanding the firm’s transaction advisory practice in CEE in her role  as “Head of Corporate M&A CEE”.

Also joining Noerr with Bořivoj Líbal are Senior Associates Petr Kobylka,  and Michal Jekielek, as well as Associates Ondřej Řitička and Marek Poloni. The team has worked together for many years as a multidisciplinary integrated team and has been advising both domestic and  international companies on transactions, as well as on their on-going activities in the Czech market.

The team has proved its strengths in a range of other legal areas including Real Estate, IT, Data Protection and  regulatory advisory work.

“Bořivoj Líbal and his team will strengthen Noerr’s service offering for  both our national and international clients in the Czech Republic and will significantly reinforce our local presence,” says Jörg Menzer, Regional Managing Partner of the Noerr offices in Bratislava, Bucharest, Budapest, Prague and Warsaw.

In early 2017, Noerr already expanded its Warsaw office by adding a larger team of lawyers, including associated partners Radoslaw Biedecki and Ludomir Biedecki. In 2018, the Banking & Finance practice was significantly expanded with the hiring of Edina Schweizer from Kinstellar in Budapest and Ludek Chvosta from White & Case in Prague, and Noerr’s Corporate/M&A practice group in Hungary was strengthened with Akos Mates-Lanyi joining from Kinstellar also last year.

Noerr has been active in Central and Eastern Europe for around three decades and has advised on some of the region’s largest investment projects during this time. Noerr’s Prague office was opened in autumn 1990.
