Noerr starts the new year with four new female partners and one male partner

Noerr has appointed five new equity partners as of 1 January 2018, including four women. Meike von Levetzow, Annette Pospich, Marlies Raschke, Bärbel Sachs and Ralph Schilha were admitted to the partnership. Michael Bergmann and Pavol Rak were designated as (non-equity) partners and will work as Senior Counsel in the future. The firm promoted 18 lawyers – including eight women – to the position of Associated Partner, and another six as Counsel.

“Due to their excellent work, our new partners have contributed to further consolidating our position in the premium segment over the last few years,” commented co-speaker  Alexander Ritvay. “By making these appointments, we are underlining our objective to open up real career perspectives to talented individuals in all practice areas,” added co-speaker Tobias Bürgers. “We have also shown once again that equity partnership is also possible part-time at Noerr. Two of the new equity partners are working in different part-time models.”

Meike von Levetzow (41), lawyer in Berlin. Meike, a specialist in complex civil, commercial and company law disputes as well as cartel damage claims, represents national and international clients in arbitration proceedings and before national courts. Her work focuses on the energy/renewable energy, retail and financial services industries. She is for example representing a Brazilian energy company before the Frankfurt courts in a €50 million financing dispute. Meike also acts as an arbitrator in national and international arbitration proceedings governed by the German Arbitration Rules of the DIS and of the ICC and represents clients in the areas of banking and capital investment law. Who’s Who Legal recognised her as a “Future Leader 2018” for arbitration and the Handelsblatt newspaper as “Best Lawyer” Litigation.

Annette Pospich (38), lawyer in Munich/Düsseldorf. Annette is Co-Head of the Real Estate Investment Group and advises national and international clients on their investments. She predominantly advises on real estate transactions in the retail, office and hotel sectors. Not only an expert in transaction structuring, she also specialises in the legal optimisation of existing portfolios. Her clients include the Hamburg Redos Group and Union Investment, both of whom she recently advised on the acquisition of the “Bordeaux Portfolio” for a new special AIF. She has also advised Art-Invest on numerous transactions and Real I.S. on the acquisition of a hotel and office complex in Munich.

Marlies Raschke (41), lawyer in Dresden. Marlies, an insolvency law specialist, advises on restructuring and insolvency issues, as well as on complex M&A transactions. Her national and international clients in particular include investors and insolvency administrators. She for example advises the insolvency administrator of Q-Cells SE, Mr Henning Schorisch, and the insolvency administrator of MIFA Mitteldeutsche Fahrradwerke AG, Professor Lucas F. Flöther, on many different insolvency proceedings issues. Clients she has recently advised include the Swiss company VARO Energy on the purchase of the insolvent Schneider Mineralöl Meißen Group and the Taiwanese sport aircraft manufacturer AeroJones Aviation Technology on the acquisition of part of the assets of the insolvent company Flight Design.

Dr Bärbel Sachs (42), lawyer in Berlin. Bärbel is an expert in German and international foreign trade, including export control, investment, customs, embargo and financial sanctions law. She advises national and international clients on internal trade compliance programmes as well as examining complex issues from the past and assists companies with investment reviews before the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Bärbel is co-editor of a standard foreign trade commentary and the author of numerous publications in this area. Juve, Who’s Who Legal, Best Lawyers and others include her amongst the leading advisors for foreign trade law.

Dr Ralph Schilha (39), lawyer in Munich. Ralph is a company law expert and advises national and international corporate groups and large family businesses on stock corporation, corporate group and capital markets law, as well as on annual general meetings. His work also focuses on complex restructurings and corporate governance, capital markets compliance and corporate co-determination issues. His clients include AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA, which he advised on the conversion into a KGaA (partnership limited by shares), and he regularly advises on stock corporation and capital markets law issues as well as on conducting annual general meetings. He also recently advised a leading special steel manufacturer and a well-known family business on complex restructurings.

The new Senior Counsel

 

Michael Bergmann (42), lawyer in Berlin. The expert in German and European antitrust law advises and represents national and international clients in antitrust, abusive practice and merger control proceedings before the Federal Cartel Office and the European Commission. He also represents his clients in cartel damages proceedings and advises on antitrust compliance. He advised Deutsche Telekom AG on the takeover of GTS Central Europe in European merger control proceedings, for example, and is representing Sonae Arauco Deutschland GmbH in defending itself against several cartel damages claims. Another focus of his work is regulatory telecommunications law.

JUDr. Pavol Rak (40), Advokát in Bratislava. Pavol is Co-Head of Noerr’s office in Bratislava and as a specialist in company and employment law has advised on a series of national and international M&A and restructuring projects. He is also a highly regarded antitrust law specialist in Slovakia and is often requested to represent clients before the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic. Pavol is regularly instructed to act for companies from the retail sector or from the automotive and related industries. He has for example advised Volkswagen and Scheidt & Bachmann.
