Noerr starts the new year with nine new partners

The law firm Noerr has named nine new partners at the start of the year. Dr. Kolja Dörrscheidt, Dr. Tibor Fedke and Dr. Anke Meier become Equity Partners. Six other lawyers were appointed Senior Counsel (Salary Partner), namely Daniel Krannich, Dr. Daniel Rücker, Rusandra Sandu, Dr. Tanja Schramm, Dr. Ingo Theusinger and Sebastian Voigt. The law firm also promoted 13 other lawyers to the rank of Associated Partner and 4 to that of Counsel.

Also at the beginning of the year, Noerr expanded its advisory capacity with the addition of a number of lateral hires. The respected energy lawyer Dr. Cornelia Kermel as Equity Partner in Berlin and Dr. Maximilian Uibeleisen as Associated Partner in Frankfurt strengthen the Noerr Energy Group. Kermel comes from Sammler Usinger, Uibeleisen from Freshfields. In addition, the financial regulatory law expert Dr. Jens H. Kunz also joins Noerr’s Frankfurt office from Freshfields.

As of January 2014, Noerr has a total of 500 professionals. The total of all staff of the law firm in the German, Central and Eastern Europe, the United Kingdom, Spain and the USA offices is 1,100.

Short profiles of new Equity Partners

Dr. Kolja Dörrscheidt (38), Rechtsanwalt and specialised lawyer for banking and capital markets law in Berlin and Frankfurt am Main, Litigation. Specialisations: litigation, inter alia in the areas banking, insolvency, insolvency-related company law, compulsory enforcement. He has represented various banks, commercial enterprises and insolvency administrators in numerous proceedings both in and out of court. He also made a decisive contribution to the continuation and expansion of our engagement by the Deutsche Bank Group.

Dr. Tibor Fedke (38), Rechtsanwalt in Berlin, Corporate. Specialisations: company law, M&A, group companies law and corporate restructuring. He is an expert for regulated industries and in 2013 advised clients in the energy and utilities sector including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on the global consolidation of its thermal power plant divisions, Macquarie on the acquisition and financing of an investment in a large North Sea wind farm, EDF Electricité de France on company law restructuring measures in Germany and Veolia Wasser on the remunicipalization of Berliner Wasserbetriebe.

Dr. Anke Meier (40), Rechtsanwältin and Attorney at Law (NY) in Frankfurt am Main, Litigation. Specialisations: arbitration, international litigation, investment protection law. She represented companies from various industries in arbitration proceedings (e.g. ICC, DIS), including companies from the energy sector in disputes on price adjustment and post-M&A. In 2012, she advised several German corporate groups on class actions in the USA, in particular on pre-trial discovery.

Dr. Daniel Krannich (40), Rechtsanwalt and spesialized lawyer for employment law in Frankfurt am Main, Employment & Pension. Specialisations: deployment of outside staff, compliance and outsourcing. He has, inter alia, advised the Teka Group, a leading European manufacturer of household and kitchen appliances, on the restructuring of its German subsidiaries (including Küppersbusch) and the British Nash Group on various outsourcing projects with Alcatel-Lucent. He has also advised numerous German and international companies within the scope of compliance proceedings on employment law aspects and represented them before labour courts.

Dr. Daniel Rücker (38), Rechtsanwalt in Munich, Media, IP & IT. Specialisations: IT law and data protection, e-commerce. He advised, amongst others, the publishing group Weltbild on the participation in the digital distribution platform Pubbles of the Gruner & Jahr subsidiary DPV, numerous international groups on structuring and implementing measures for their group-wide data transfer in conformity with data protection laws, and provided comprehensive advice to a leading German garden market chain on establishing an online store with a multichannel distribution concept.

Rusandra Sandu (37), Avocat in Bucharest, Corporate. Specialisations: company law, M&A, antitrust and subsidies law. She has in recent years advised clients including a large international automobile company on its investments in a new transmission production facility and Premium Aerotec/Airbus on its greenfield investments in Romania as well as strategic investors on cross-border M&A transactions. She also advises well-known companies from the retail, automotive and pharmaceuticals sector on an ongoing basis.

Dr. Tanja Schramm (40), Rechtsanwältin in Düsseldorf, Litigation. Specialisations: insurance and reinsurance law, advice on complex national and international insurance claims, in particular in the areas of financial and professional lines, litigation. She acts as monitoring counsel in major claims in the banking and finance sector for several leading E&O and D&O insurers and has represented several D&O insurers in insurance coverage law disputes with fundamental legal significance.

Dr. Ingo Theusinger (40), Rechtsanwalt in Düsseldorf, Corporate. Specialisations: stock corporation and capital markets law, restructuring and compliance. The clients he has advised include the insolvency administrator over the assets of Solar Millennium AG on the comprehensive legal handling of its insolvency, the supervisory board of the listed company Phoenix Solar AG on stock corporation law issues and the GWB AG, which is listed on the OTC market, as a target company in connection with the sale of 92 per cent of GWB’s shares by BayernLB to a consortium of investors headed by PATRIZIA Immobilien AG. He also advises listed companies on compliance issues, including internal investigations.

Sebastian Voigt (38), Rechtsanwalt in Dresden, Corporate. Specialisations: distressed M&A, private equity, management and employee participation programmes. He advised, amongst others, the insolvency administrator of Global PVQ SE i. I. (formerly: Q-Cells SE) on the sale of its operations, of the subsidiary Solibro as well as of solar projects in Canada. He also acted, for example, for the investor Insight Venture Partners and the company founders of Trivago on the sale of around 60 per cent of the shares to its new majority shareholder, the world’s largest US online travel agency Expedia, and advised Billpay GmbH on the sale to Wonga Group Ltd.
