Noerr’s Private Equity & Venture Capital practice group remains on expansion course: on 1 September, Dr. Christoph Thiermann will be joining the private equity team at Noerr’s Munich office as an associated partner. Christoph Thiermann comes from P+P Pöllath + Partners.

Christoph Thiermann specialises in transaction-related advice to PE investors in an international environment and advises clients on investments and takeovers, as well as restructurings and divestments. Besides investors, he also regularly advises companies on M&A transactions both on the buyer and the seller side. At Noerr, Christoph Thiermann will primarily work with Dr. Georg Schneider, who heads the firm’s Private Equity & Venture Capital group, and will contribute to further expanding this practice.

“Especially in recent times, we have been able to convince numerous new clients of our expertise in the area of private equity and venture capital – particularly also when advising on cross-border as well as fintech and capital market transactions,” says Georg Schneider. “Together with Christoph Thiermann, who has extensive experience particularly in the mid-cap area and in buy-out transactions, we want to further expand and intensify our advisory services.”

“The Noerr Private Equity & Venture Capital practice group is among the top addresses in the market”, says Christoph Thiermann. “The strong reputation of the team led by Georg Schneider, the impressive track record as well as the dynamic development of Noerr speak for themselves.”

Noerr is one of the leading law firms for private equity and venture capital and advises both well-known private equity investors such as American Industrial Partners, Apollo, Orlando, Oakley Capital, Capita, Deutsche Telekom/T-Ventures and Scottish Equity Partners, as well as market leading growth entities, including Zalando, Rocket Internet, HelloFresh, Foodpanda, Jimdo, and Global Fashion Group. Key transactions in the last few months have included providing advice to BKB Bank on the takeover of Neelmeyer bank, to the fintech company Payleven on the merger with SumUp, to Africa Internet Group on several financing rounds, to Lazada shareholders on the takeover of the shopping portal by Alibaba, as well as the takeover of the aluminium recycler ScholzAlu Stockach for funds held by Orlando Management, or the IPO of MyBucks at the Frankfurt stock exchange.
