Wirtschaftswoche survey: Noerr partners Thomas Hoffmann and Christian Pleister top lawyers for restructuring

Thomas Hoffmann and Christian Pleister (both Frankfurt/Berlin) are among Germany’s “most renowned restructurers” According to a current survey carried out by the business magazine Wirtschaftswoche for its list of best restructuring lawyers, both Noerr partners were recommended particularly often by the experts interviewed for the survey.

Thomas Hoffmann is specialised in providing insolvency law advice during corporate reorganisations both prior to insolvency and during court insolvency proceedings. Together with Martin Kleinschmidt he heads Noerr’s Restructuring and Insolvency practice, which advises clients on complex out-of-court and court reorganisation solutions. Christian Pleister, As co-head of Noerr’s Private Equity practice, regularly advises on transactions in crisis situations. International investors such as distressed debt funds in particular rely on his expertise.

According to the recently published list of best lawyers, Christian Pleister is also one of the top lawyers for company law, together with the Noerr partners Tobias Bürgers (Munich), Alexander Hirsch, Jens Liese (both Düsseldorf) and Thorsten Reinhard (Frankfurt). Besides, the following Noerr partners were listed in further lists of best lawyers recently published by Wirtschaftswoche: Jens Liese for M&A, Andreas Butz (Düsseldorf) and Hans-Christoph Schimmelpfennig (Munich) for employment law, and Fabian Badtke (Frankfurt) and Alexander Birnstiel (Munich) for antitrust law.

The Handelsblatt Research Institute interviewed more than 1,000 lawyers at over 90 law firms for the lists of best lawyers. An expert jury selected 39 law firms with 65 lawyers from its shortlist.
