International employment market: bureaucratic burden when assigning employees to Slovakia is growing

17.06.2016

Companies sending employees to work in Slovakia will have to cope with considerably more bureaucracy in the near future: from 18 June 2016, the new Slovakian “Act on Cross-Border Cooperation when Posting Employees in Connection with the Provision of Services” will oblige employers in the European Economic Area (EEA) to provide the Slovakian National Labour Inspectorate with detailed information. Apart from the number of employees posted and their identity, the start and end dates of the assignment, the place of work and nature of the work will also have to be reported. In addition, the foreign company has to provide the employment contracts of all the employees assigned, documentation on working hours and statements of the wages paid at the place of work during the secondment – also translated into Slovakian if requested by the National Labour Inspectorate. In addition, a process agent is required in Slovakia.
