Noerr KinderCamp season 2018: Children’s laughter is waterproof!

24.10.2018

More than 170 children and young people had a carefree and action-packed holiday this year at the Noerr KinderCamp in the “Silent Valley” on the shores of Lake Fuschl (Austria).

The varied camp programme “Forest, meadow, water – experience, shape and understand nature” inspired the young visitors from Germany and Romania: Nature experience and mountain walks in the camp area were just as much a part of the programme as swimming excursions, visits to a climbing park, football and volleyball games and evenings spent together around the campfire. The carers brought many sporty moments into the program. The children and teenagers showed great enthusiasm for stand-up paddling and high motivation when exploring the climbing forest. This year's great summer weather naturally focused on the water activities. When the weather was not so good, there were excursions to the Halleiner Salzwelten and to the "Haus der Natur" in Salzburg.

During their time at the Noerr KinderCamp, children and young people were provided with educational support and guidance by employees from German and eastern European non-profit-making organizations. This year, kids from the following organizations attended the Camp: Stiftung Kinderzukunft (Gelnhausen/Timisoara, Romania), Kindervereinigung Dresden, Kinderheim Pauline v. Mallinckrodt (near Siegburg), Kinder- und Jugendheim Benshausen (Schmalkalden-Meiningen rural district, Thuringia) and Waldoni-Stiftung (Darmstadt).

Since 2011, around 1,950 children and young people from Germany, Romania and Austria have been guests at the Noerr KinderCamp.
