Successful rescue with Noerr Consulting – Mechanical engineering company Rena sold to Capvis

The Black Forest mechanical engineering company Rena has a new owner and is being taken over by the investor Capvis. A decisive contribution to the rescue of this insolvent company was made by Noerr Consulting AG and its Executive Board member Jan von Schuckmann. Von Schuckmann acted as CFO and debtor-in-possession manager on the part of Rena.

The takeover also marks the end of the dual-track process, which was initiated after debtor-in-possession insolvency proceedings were opened. Besides the sale, reorganisation in the context of an insolvency plan was also considered.  The debtor-in-possession management, the insolvency monitor and the creditors’ committee ultimately voted for the sale to the Swiss investor. The sale still has to be approved by the competition authorities.
