01.10.2014

The law firm Noerr has strengthened its Tax, Advisory & Private Clients Department significantly. On 1 October, Rechtsanwalt and tax advisor Christian Becker-Pennrich joined the Düsseldorf office as Associated Partner. Becker-Pennrich comes from Commerzbank in Luxembourg where he was head of the Assets in Structures Department.

With the appointment of Becker-Pennrich, the law firm reacts to the increasing demand for advice on group taxation structuring and from private wealth clients. In both areas, the 38 year old has wide practical experience in particular in product development. Prior to his time in Luxembourg, for three years he also structured loans in special situations for Commerzbank’s Mittelstandsbank. “Mr. Becker-Pennrich combines outstanding tax expertise with in-depth banking and financing know-how. With this combination, he is an ideal addition to our team”, said Dr. Lutz Schmidt, Co-Head of the Tax, Advisory & Private Clients Department.

“What attracted me and drew me to Noerr is the innovative spirit of the law firm in tax law and the vivid recognition that improving the tax situation always has the non-tax objectives of the client as its result and not the other way round” emphasises Christian Becker-Pennrich and adds: “I also know the interests of banks at first hand and Noerr offers me the flexibility of incorporating the various elements of the my experience in tax structuring, wealth management and corporate banking in equal measure into advisory work.”

Noerr‘s Tax, Advisory & Private Clients Department advises over the entire tax added value chain. Its services include the development of taxation structures, structuring advice and implementation, tax compliance and enforcement advice. The Department is closely networked with financial advisory services and the law firm’s other departments and is headed by jointly by Dr. Lutz Schmidt (Düsseldorf) and Georg Edelmann (Munich).
