Noerr advises Anschutz Entertainment Group on cycling joint venture

Noerr advised Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) in setting up a strategic partnership in the German cycling market. Together with the Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.), it intends in particular to revive the most important German stage race in road cycling, the Deutschland Tour.

The goal of the joint venture is sustainable development of cycling in Germany. This means not only the return of the Deutschland Tour in August 2018 with the slogan "Germany. Your Tour." but also in particular the further development of the classic Eschborn-Frankfurt cycling race. The Anschutz Entertainment Group is among the leading sports and live entertainment companies worldwide and has been active in the German market for more than a decade – its portfolio includes the German premier hockey league team the Eisbären Berlin. Its new joint venture partner, Amaury Sport Organisation, is involved in projects including the Tour de France.
