Noerr advises EDF on interest in charging infrastructure specialist ubitricity

17.06.2014

The law firm Noerr again advised the French energy group EDF on a project in Germany. Through its German subsidiary, EDF has acquired an interest in the Berlin company ubitricity für verteilte Energiesysteme mbH, a start-up in the E-Mobility sector.

The Venture Capital house Earlybird, IBB and Heinz Dürr are among existing investors in ubitricity. EDF relied, as in earlier investments, on the Berlin M&A and Energy Team led by Noerr partner Dr. Christoph Spiering for structuring the financing round and capital increase. ubitricity specialises in innovative charging infrastructure and new services for electro-mobility. The mobile metering system of the company formed in 2008 for example facilitates supply, metering and charging for electricity through a virtual grid.
