Noerr advises Hankook on takeover of Reifen-Müller

18.07.2018

With a team led by partner Till Kosche, Noerr has advised the South Korean tire manufacturer Hankook Tire on its takeover of Reifen-Müller, one of the larger independent German tire-sector companies. The takeover will strengthen Hankook Tire’s global distribution system. The transaction is pending subject to clearance by antitrust authorities.

The transaction includes acquisition of 100% of the shares of not only the distribution company Reifen-Müller KG but also Reifen-Müller GmbH & Co. Runderneuerungswerk KG. Reifen-Müller’s current executive management will remain in office. Founded in 1966, the company currently has more than 700 employees and operates 44 of its own service centres in Germany that sell tires for passenger vehicles, lorries and motorcycles. Hankook Tire will use the Reifen-Müller service centres as a strategic base to expand its distribution network. With its approximately 22,000 employees, Hankook Tire is one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers.
