09.07.2015

Dr. Thomas Gniadek will join Noerr’s patent law team at its Munich office on 15 July as Associated Partner.

Thomas Gniadek comes from the patent law team of the renowned IP boutique Bardehle Pagenberg, where he was Counsel. The 37-year old focuses on consultancy and litigation in German and multi-national patent disputes. His industry experience covers, above all, the areas of consumer electronics, mobile telephony and smartphones, software, mechanics, medical devices, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

Thomas Gniadek regularly represents his clients in infringement and validity cases before German infringement courts, the Federal Patent Court as well as the European Patent Office. His focus areas also include utility model and employee inventions law, as well as technology-related competition and anti-trust law.

“We see a strongly growing demand for patent-law expertise, both in respect of traditional patent cases and at the interface with the consultancy fields of our colleagues from other practice groups”, says the Munich Partner Dr. Ralph Nack, with whom Thomas Gniadek will work together closely. Dr. Christiane Zedelius, Head of Noerr’s Practice Group “Intellectual Property: Trademarks & Patents” adds: “With Dr. Gniadek we have gained a distinguished IP litigation expert and are now able to significantly expand the range of services we offer to our clients.”

“Thanks to the integration of technical and legal expertise, the quality of the advice provided by Noerr is excellent. I am looking forward to contributing to the further expansion of the patent law practice”, says Thomas Gniadek, commenting on his move to Noerr.

At Noerr, a total of 16 patent experts, including four Partners, will now concentrate on the fields of IP monetisation, developing licence systems, and strategic and forensic patent advice. The Noerr patent law team consists of Noerr lawyers as well as patent lawyers working in their own law office, while being associated with Noerr as Of Counsel. This cooperation ensures integrated legal and technical patent advice for clients from one source, i.e., from the application for and review of intellectual property rights, and their enforcement and defence, to tax optimisation and transactions.
