Oliver Sieg

Oliver Sieg is a partner in Noerr's Düsseldorf office and co-heads the litigation department. Oliver Sieg focuses on strategic advice to clients in disputes, dispute resolution and negotiations including, as an ultima ratio, litigation at first instance and appeal courts, particularly in complex and cross-border disputes. He is experienced in representing parties in arbitration proceedings, especially according to DIS or ICC rules and ad hoc. He has also been appointed as arbitrator.

Projects

  • European specialty insurer (2022): Advising and representing the company in relation to W&I insurance due to the alleged breach of an insolvency warranty in the underlying SPA
  • European reinsurer (2022): Representing the company in arbitration proceedings against a European primary insurer concerning a reinsurance contract for business closure insurance in connection with Covid-19 risks
  • International construction company (2022): Providing insurance law advice in connection with an action for damages in the US regarding flood damage due to Hurricane Sandy in 2012 amounting to billions of dollars
  • Former board member of a manufacturer of solar modules (2022): Defending the client in court proceedings against claims for damages worth approximately €700 million from directors’ liability brought by an insolvency administrator due to allegations of a delay in filing for insolvency and seeking to set aside transactions
  • International consumer goods company (2021): Advising governing bodies on the enforcement of claims against board members and D&O insurance following a cartel fine
