Noerr advises H2 MOBILITY Deutschland on a €110m round of financing and the entry of Clean H2 Infra Fund

04.04.2022

A multidisciplinary Noerr team led by Alexander Hirsch and Jan-Philipp Meier has advised H2 MOBILITY Deutschland on a round of financing worth €110m and the entry of Clean H2 Infra Fund as an additional shareholder.

H2 MOBILITY Deutschland is a leader in hydrogen refuelling stations, operating over 90 of them in Germany. The company was set up in 2015 by the leading companies in the gas, oil and car industries, Air Liquide, Daimler Truck, Hyundai, Linde, OMV, Shell and TotalEnergies. Hyundai joined the group of shareholders in 2021.

Clean H2 Infra Fund is one of the world’s largest hydrogen project investment funds and is managed by Hy24, a joint venture between Ardian and FiveT Hydrogen.

Clean H2 Infra Fund and the current shareholders of H2 MOBILITY Deutschland, Air Liquide, Daimler Truck, Hyundai, Linde, OMV, Shell and TotalEnergies are now investing another €110m to speed up the expansion of the hydrogen fuelling station network. This represents an active contribution to EU environmental targets while complying with the EU taxonomy.

The transaction is subject to review by the relevant antitrust authorities.

A Noerr advisory team led by our Dusseldorf partner Alexander Hirsch had already advised H2 MOBILITY Deutschland when it was founded in 2015 and when Hyundai became a shareholder in 2021.
