Noerr appoints five Equity Partners and two Senior Counsel

Noerr has with effect on 1 January 2016 appointed five new partners and two senior counsel. Dr. Michael Brellochs, Dr. Jens H. Kunz, Dr. Daniel Rücker, Dr. Ingo Theusinger and Dr. Marco Tucci have been admitted to the partnership as new partners. In addition, Volker Bock and Prof. Dr. Sebastian Wündisch will in future be acting as Senior Counsel (Salary Partners). A further twelve lawyers have been appointed by Noerr as Associated Partners, and four as Counsel.

Co-Speaker Dr. Alexander Ritvay adds: “Developing our firm’s own talent and strengthening specific areas with lateral hires remain the key basis for sustainable, qualitative growth.”

With effect on 1 January 2016. Noerr has also expanded the advisory services it offers with a lateral hire. Dr. Julian Schulze De la Cruz is joining Noerr from Weil, Gotshal & Manges and strengthens the practice group Corporate and Capital Markets as an Associated Partner at Noerr’s Frankfurt office.

The new Equity Partners

Dr. Michael Brellochs (39), Rechtsanwalt in Munich, Attorney-at-Law (New York). The corporate law expert Michael Brellochs advises companies and investors on corporate law and capital markets law transactions. His focus is on stock corporation and capital markets law. He recently advised Augusta Technologie AG on a merger law squeeze-out, the international recipe box delivery service HelloFresh on the preparation of its IPO, the insurance group “Die Bayerische” on the acquisition of a majority stake in Compexx Finanz AG, and Underberg AG on the sale of a majority stake in the listed company Schlumberger AG. Michael Brellochs is the author of various publications on stock corporation and capital markets law subjects and also acted as an expert for the Bundestag (lower house of the German parliament) regarding the transposition of the Transparency Directive Amending Directive and delisting, as well as for the Federal Ministry of Finance on the Market Abuse Regulation.

Dr. Jens H. Kunz (41), Rechtsanwalt in Frankfurt. The financial services regulation law expert Jens H. Kunz advises German and international banks, financial services providers, payment institutions and funds. Besides providing ongoing advice on all issues relating to financial services regulation law, he focuses on providing financial services regulation law assistance and support for M&A and capital market transactions. He was for example recently involved in advising Volkswagen Financial Services AG on the acquisition of the mobility services provider Sunhill Technologies and Oddo & Cie. on the acquisition of the asset management company Meriten Investment Management GmbH.

Dr. Daniel Rücker (40), Rechtsanwalt in Munich. Besides providing advice on complex data protection law issues such as the structuring of international data flows in line with data protection regulations, Daniel Rücker also in particular focuses on the areas e-commerce and digital business, IT projects, IT litigation and IT compliance. He advises various international companies on organising and structuring existing and new business models in line with data protection regulations. He advises for example one of the leading manufacturers of robots and provided the British outsourcing services provider Capita with data protection law assistance and support during the announced takeover of the customer management service provider Avocis. Daniel Rücker is considered one of the leading data protection and IT law experts in Germany and is also active as a data protection and IT security law lecturer at the University of Passau.

Dr. Ingo Theusinger (42), Rechtsanwalt in Düsseldorf. As an expert for stock corporation and capital markets law and compliance, Ingo Theusinger advises national and international companies and insolvency administrators. He has carried out numerous internal investigations (for example at Puma) and advised clients on individual compliance issues. He has supported various insolvency administrators (such as Volker Böhm as the insolvency administrator over the assets of Solar Millennium AG) on the handling of complex insolvencies and the assertion of company law claims. The international directory “Best Lawyers” lists Ingo Theusinger as one of the leading experts in Germany for “Corporate Governance & Compliance Practice”.

Dr. Marco Tucci (42), Rechtsanwalt in Munich. Marco Tucci advises national and international companies comprehensively on employment law matters, in particular in the context of complex restructuring projects. He recently for example advised clients such as a major tobacco company on restructuring its production division, BayWa AG on reorganising its building materials division, the private equity investor American Industrial Partners on acquiring the OEM business division of Anixter and OWP Brillen GmbH on the acquisition of OP Couture GmbH, the company behind the cult eyewear brand “Cazal”. He also advised the publishing group Verlagsgruppe Passau on the sale of its Czech publishing business.

The new Senior Counsel

Volker Bock (40), Rechtsanwalt in Dresden. As a recognised expert for plant construction, mechanical engineering and commercial construction, Volker Bock advises national and international companies both on project developments and in the context of dispute resolution. He is representing Linde in a complex dispute involving several court and arbitration proceedings relating to a starch factory. He provides ongoing advice to Siemens on international airport projects, and Anschutz on building law issues relating to the construction of a new entertainment district in Berlin. He also advises an international telecommunication company in connection with the construction of new computer centres.

Prof. Dr. Sebastian Wündisch (45), Rechtsanwalt in Dresden. As a patent and licensing law expert, Sebastian Wündisch advises clients in a national and international context. He also combines legal theory and practice as an honorary professor and head of the “Research Centre for Research Promotion and Technology Transfer” at the Dresden University of Technology. As a lawyer he advises companies from the automotive and pharmaceutical industries on important development projects, as well as innovative start-up companies and research centres, and provides support for IT projects in the public sector. Sebastian Wündisch also acts in complex arbitration and court cases relating to licence and R&D contracts.
