The law firm Noerr further expands its tax law practice: On 1 May, Katrin Gänsler, a seasoned tax expert, joined the firm’s Frankfurt office as an associated partner. The tax advisor and auditor comes to Noerr from Allen & Overy where she has been at the Frankfurt office since 2007.

Katrin Gänsler advises international enterprises and real estate companies on complex transactions and projects. Her activities focus largely on group tax law, restructuring measures and tax aspects in M&A transactions. The 34-year-old lawyer also has significant practical experience in dealing with special land transfer and turnover tax projects.

“We are experiencing a steady increase in demand in our international business”, says Georg Edelmann, Co-Head of Noerr’s Tax Group and Partner in Munich. “In Katrin Gänsler our firm has gained a highly experienced expert in this area. Together we intend to expand our range of advice for those international enterprises wishing to extend their business to the German market or to make acquisitions.”

In Frankfurt, Katrin Gänsler will work in particular with Dr Oliver Trautmann who advises international corporations as well as on M&A transactions, restructuring measures and tax proceedings. Other areas of cooperation lie in advice to strategic and private equity investors on complex corporate acquisition and real estate transactions.

“The focus of Noerr’s tax law department, particularly on corporate tax advice, is a perfect fit for my field of practice and I look forward to working with my new colleagues”, Katrin Gänsler said, commenting on her move. “At Noerr, there is every indication of growth and the basic conditions for further expansion of the tax business are excellent. This is helped not only by the breadth and depth of the team’s expertise, but also by the firm’s integrated advisory approach.”

Only recently, the Tax, Advisory & Private Clients Practice Group gained a further prominent addition in the lawyer and tax advisor Christian Becker-Pennrich who moved from Commerzbank to Noerr’s Düsseldorf office as an Associated Partner. There has also been expansion in the criminal tax law and white-collar criminal law practice with the arrival of Dr Lars Kutzner whose main focus of work is on the introduction of tax compliance management systems.

The experts of Noerr’s Tax, Advisory & Private Clients Group advise along the entire length of the tax-law value-added chain. Their services include developing tax structures and advising on structural and implementation issues, as well as tax compliance and tax enforcement advice. Led by Georg Edelmann (Munich) and Dr Lutz Schmidt (Düsseldorf), the team members work in close cooperation with the firm’s other practice groups.
