Noerr advises Roland Berger on a cooperative venture with restructuring advisor Ralf Schmitz
A team from Noerr under the remit of Gerald Reger and Christian Haagen has provided Roland Berger with wide-ranging advice on a cooperative venture in the fields of corporate restructurings and turnarounds. As part of the alliance, Roland Berger and Schmitz & Partner, both market leaders in restructuring and turnaround management, are forming a new company whose core business will consist of seconding experienced chief restructuring officers (CROs) to businesses in distressed situations.
From 1 January 2026, the new company will be trading under the name of Ralf Schmitz CRO Management GmbH. The unique competence centre will cover the entire restructuring value chain, from devising restructuring strategies to implementing them and successfully transforming businesses.
Munich-based Roland Berger, which has more than 3,000 advisors worldwide, is one of the leading management consultancies focusing on strategic management consultancy.
The consultancy Schmitz & Partner Unternehmensberater specialises in stabilising businesses in distressed situations by carrying out extensive restructuring and turnaround measures and securing their future viability, with their partners often acting as restructuring or financial managers. Its consulting services are managed by Ralf Schmitz and his partners Benno Hank and Stephan Happe.
Apart from advising on a wide range of company law matters, the Noerr team also advised Roland Berger on the conclusion of framework agreements for advisory services as part of the transaction.
