Council of the European Union agrees position on proposal to boost long-term investment in EU economy
03.07.2014
The Permanent Representatives Committee of the Council agreed on a proposed regulation aimed at increasing the pool of capital available for long-term investment into the EU economy by creating a new form of fund vehicle. These European long-term investment funds (ELTIFs) are expected to be able to provide investors with long-term stable returns. The Committee invited the incoming Italian presidency to start negotiations with the EP. One possible area of application of the new funds will be infrastructure projects.
