Noerr advises WTS on strategic partnership with EQT

02.04.2025

A team from Noerr led by Georg Christoph Schneider, Christian Alexander Mayer and Elmar Bindl has advised WTS Group AG on the agreement of a long-term strategic partnership with global private equity investor EQT.

EQT, through the EQT X fund, is to become an anchor investor at WTS, providing significant growth capital in the context of the partnership. WTS is a full-service provider of tax and complementary financial advisory services and one of the leading independent players in the tax advisory industry in Germany.

The partners’ aim is to substantially accelerate the company’s growth and to jointly build up a champion in the tax advisory industry. With EQT’s support, WTS plans to increase investments in digital services and artificial intelligence, building on the company’s already strong digital offering.

In the scope of the partnership, the intention is to use EQT’s capital and M&A expertise to promote inorganic growth. This includes making further investments in new technologies and expanding the breadth of their complementary financial advisory services.

Closing of the transaction is subject to the customary regulatory approvals and is expected to take place in summer 2025.
