Noerr advises Colas, a company of the Bouygues Group, on acquisition of road construction and recycling activities of Frauenrath Group
A Noerr team led by Dominik Rompza and Meret Pettirsch has advised French Colas SA on the acquisition of the road construction and recycling activities of the Frauenrath Group. This transaction, which marks Colas’ first acquisition in the road sector in Germany, is part of the company's growth strategy in Europe's largest market.
The construction and recycling activities of the family-owned Frauenrath Group employ approximately 420 people and generate revenue of approximately 150 million euros (2025). Colas is a major player in the construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure and urban development. In 2025, the company generated global revenue of 16 billion euros. Colas is a company of the Bouygues Group, one of France's largest diversified services groups, with around 200,000 employees and revenue of approximately 57 billion euros (2025).
The transaction is expected to be finalized by the end of the first half of 2026 and is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval by the competition authorities.
