Noerr advises SachsenEnergie on successful completion of energy merger
A team from Noerr led by Jens Gehlich and Hans Kenschke has advised SachsenEnergie AG on the merger of DREWAG - Stadtwerke Dresden GmbH into SachsenEnergie AG. This marked the successful completion of the consolidation of utility companies DREWAG and ENSO to form SachsenEnergie AG, a process which Noerr has advised from the outset.
Following the merger, which took effect on 1 July, sales operations will be standardised under the SachsenEnergie brand. With more than 4,000 employees and a turnover of around 5.5 billion euros, SachsenEnergie is one of the five largest municipal utility companies in Germany. Its business areas include power generation, distribution and sales as well as heating, water supply and fibre-optic/broadband.
