Noerr strengthens Private Equity practice with Benjamin Maciejewski and Bastian Schuster

Noerr has further expanded its Private Equity practice with the addition of two new associated partners. Benjamin Maciejewski and Bastian Schuster joined the firm’s Munich office on 1 August. Benjamin moved from A&O Shearman, while Bastian came from Freshfields.

The new associated partners specialise in advising private equity investors and companies on national and international M&A transactions. They also advise clients on growth investments, co-investments, exits and equity participation plans, as well as on ongoing corporate law matters.

“Our Private Equity practice continues on a strong growth trajectory,” said Christoph Thiermann, who heads the practice group together with Felix Blobel. “Given their extensive experience in advising on national and international private equity transactions, Benjamin and Bastian are an excellent fit for our market-leading transactions team.”

Noerr’s Private Equity practice group comprises more than 50 lawyers and advises German and international financial investors, companies and management teams on cross-border large- and mid-cap transactions as well as on the structuring of investment funds. Its clients include private equity firms such as AEQUITA, Axcel, Bregal Unternehmerkapital, Bridgepoint, J.C. Flowers, KPS, KKR and Summit Partners.

Recent matters have included advising AEQUITA on its acquisition of Rheinmetall’s Power Systems division and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) European petrochemicals business, advising Eurowind on a €2 billion investment by Blackstone, advising Axcel on its first platform investment in Germany and advising WTS on its strategic partnership with EQT.
