Noerr advises banks on additional EUR 1.2 billion financing for Westconnect

03.08.2026

A Noerr team led by Dorian Legel has advised the banking consortium on securing additional funding of 1.2 billion euros for Westconnect GmbH. The transaction substantially expands the existing financing and extends its term until 2033.

The new capital will be used for the further roll-out of the fibre network in western Germany. It consists of debt financing provided by the banking consortium and equity contributions from Westconnect’s shareholders, Westenergie and Igneo Infrastructure Partners. This will enable Westconnect to continue implementing its growth plans consistently and sustainably.

The existing banking consortium, which had already supported Westconnect’s first round of financing, remains in place and is joined by two new lenders. Westconnect is a subsidiary of E.ON, Germany's largest energy and infrastructure services provider.
