Noerr appoints Oliver Schöpp as chief compliance officer

Oliver SchoeppNoerr has appointed Oliver Schöpp (53) as the firm’s chief compliance officer. The position was created in order to deal with the growing compliance challenges arising now and in the future.

“We are delighted to have acquired Oliver Schöpp, a fully qualified lawyer with long-standing professional experience in the field of compliance,” said co-managing partner Alexander Ritvay.

“Owing to his experience in implementing compliance management systems, Oliver Schöpp is ideally suited to developing the process workflows at our firm to meet the stricter requirements,” added co-managing partner Torsten Fett.

Oliver Schöpp studied law at Goethe University Frankfurt and worked as legal counsel for Deutsche Bank AG in Frankfurt and head of local compliance at Commerzbank AG in Zurich. Before moving to Noerr, he worked as in-house counsel in the compliance unit of the legal department at Deutsche Vermögensberatung AG in Frankfurt.
