Noerr remains on course for success with re-election of Tobias Bürgers and Alexander Ritvay as its Speakers
Dr Tobias Bürgers and Dr Alexander Ritvay will remain at the helm of the law firm Noerr for a further three years from 1 January 2016. At the first regular partnership meeting of 2015, the firm’s partners reconfirmed both Speakers in office.
Tobias Bürgers and Alexander Ritvay have jointly presided over the firm since 2013. During this time, Noerr has continued to pursue its qualitative growth and consistently invested in strategic business areas – with success: the firm has, for several years now, impressed with its far higher-than-average growth rates. The course pursued has also been affirmed by the national and international trade press with several recent awards to the firm, including “International Firm of the Year” at the Legal Business Awards 2014, “Firm of the Year” and “Firm of the Year for M&A” at the JUVE Awards 2014, “Law Firm of the Year: Germany” at The Lawyer Awards 2015 and last, but not least, as “Germany Law Firm of the Year” at the Chambers Europe Awards 2015. “The focus on quality criteria will continue to remain the guiding principle for our firm’s development and for further investments in the services we provide”, emphasizes Alexander Ritvay.
In the past three years, there has been a significant increase in instructions from Dax companies – often in connection with legal risks due to increased regulatory requirements – and in international business. “Today, internationalization of the economy is a significant driving force for our business”, says Tobias Bürgers. “The approach of our firm has proved to be a competitive advantage.” Noerr relies on its own strong pan-European range of legal services as well as on its “best friends” relations with top international firms.
The firm is also well prepared for a further market trend: “Digitalization represents new challenges for the economy”, stresses Alexander Ritvay. In the course of digitalization, not only value-added chains but also entire business models have changed – and thus also the requirements relating to top legal advice. Ritvay: “In the high-end sector, firms which – like Noerr – offer their clients an integrated spectrum of advice are in demand.” Especially data protection, IT and IP law are increasingly important in competition for clients.
The Speakers’ first joint period of office was also marked by the firm’s successful change in its corporate culture. This benefits not only existing employees: “Surveys show that Noerr is in the top 5 most popular law firms among applicants and thus one of the top addresses in Germany for young legal talent”, Tobias Bürgers points out.
