Noerr advises NDW Holding on sale of MAFI Transport-Systeme and TREPEL Airport Equipment to Mutares
A Noerr team led by Jan-Philipp Meier, Simone Schönen and Christian Haagen has advised NDW Maschinenbau-Holding GmbH on the sale of MAFI Transport-Systeme GmbH and TREPEL Airport Equipment GmbH to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA. The companies are major global manufacturers of ground support equipment and heavy-duty vehicles for the aviation and logistics industries.
MAFI specialises in the development and manufacture of heavy-duty vehicles used to move containers, semi-trailers, cargo units and roll trailers in ports and industrial sites. TREPEL focuses on aircraft tractors, cargo high loaders and loader transporters for the aviation sector. The group operates an integrated production facility in Tauberbischofsheim, Germany, as well as a service location in the United States, and maintains a global sales and service network spanning more than 115 countries.
After an initial extensive transformation programme, including operational improvements and cost savings, the companies are now well placed to increase profitability and secure sustainable growth. They provide a strong platform for further expansion in the global markets for ground support equipment, cargo handling and specialised industrial transport solutions.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
