Noerr strengthens private equity practice with Maximilian Kind
Noerr is continuing to expand its private equity practice. Maximilian Kind will join the firm’s Hamburg office as an associated partner on 1 October, having previously worked at Freshfields.
Maximilian Kind advises private equity investors and companies on complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. His services span the full deal lifecycle, including providing ongoing corporate law advice to clients.
“Maximilian Kind is a colleague with an excellent network and a strong reputation in the private equity market. He will play a key role in further expanding our growing private equity business, including in Hamburg,” says Moritz Koch, a partner in Hamburg, adding: “Private equity transactions in regulated sectors are a particular focus in our Hamburg office – an area in which Maximilian also has a great deal of expertise.”
Noerr is thus systematically continuing the growth strategy of its private equity practice group led by Felix Blobel and Christoph Thiermann. In August, Benjamin Maciejewski and Bastian Schuster also joined the Munich team as associated partners.
With more than 50 lawyers and other professionals, Noerr’s private equity practice advises domestic and international financial investors, companies and management teams on cross-border large-cap and mid-cap transactions as well as on structuring investment funds. Its clients include private equity firms such as AEQUITA, Bregal Unternehmerkapital, EMERAM, J.C. Flowers, KPS, KKR, One Equity Partners and VR Equitypartner.
Recent matters include advising AEQUITA on acquiring Rheinmetall’s Power Systems business, the European petrochemicals business of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and four European production sites from chemicals group LyondellBasell.
Further work highlights include advising Eurowind on Blackstone’s $2 billion investment, EMERAM on its investment in management company Hochfrequenz Unternehmensberatung and Axcel on its first platform investment in Germany.
The team also advised NPM Capital on acquiring Büter Group, Borromin on acquiring a majority interest in Herbrig and Rothschild & Co on acquiring private bank Marcard, Stein & Co from M.M. Warburg & CO.
