Noerr advises Mercedes-Benz on the strategic re-positioning of Own Retail and the divestiture of sales branches
A Noerr team led by partners Martin Neuhaus (project lead), Jan-Philipp Meier, Clemens Schönemann, Harald Selzner, Benedikt Vogt and Rainer Wilke is advising Mercedes-Benz AG on the strategic re-positioning of its own-retail structures and the related sale of sales branches. The M&A process was successfully initiated with the signing of the sale and purchase agreements for the first five sales branches (Dortmund, Koblenz, Lübeck, Mainz and Neu-Ulm) together with their respective various locations.
The divestiture of the sales branches is carried out by parallel auction processes characterized by strong investor interest and includes international and domestic bidders. The successful international and domestic bidders include the following car dealer groups: Jürgens, Kestenholz, Merbag, Sterne Gruppe, Süverkrüp and Brinkmann.
In 2024, Mercedes-Benz took the decision to review the sale of the Group's own dealerships in Germany in order to strategically re-position its own-retail structures.
