Noerr advises banks on successful restructuring of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG

16.07.2026

A Noerr team under the helm of Dorian Legel and Andreas Naujoks has advised a syndicate of banks led by regional bank Norddeutsche Landesbank on the successful financial restructuring of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG.

Following confirmation of the final validation report by KPMG, it was possible to complete the restructuring in early July – some six months earlier than intended in the restructuring plan. Funding has been secured for the group of companies until 2038. The Noerr team provided the banks involved with wide-ranging advice on all financing topics related to completing the company’s turnaround.

Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG owns the airport companies Flughafen Dresden GmbH and Flughafen Leipzig/Halle GmbH as well as ground handling service provider PortGround GmbH. Its shareholders are the Free State of Saxony, the State of Saxony-Anhalt and the cities of Leipzig, Dresden and Halle (Saale). Last year, Dresden and Leipzig/Halle airports recorded more than three million passengers and an air freight volume of around 1.4 million tonnes.
