REACH: Expanded Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern

The European Chemicals Agency, ECHA, added four chemical products to the candidate list of substances of very high concern (SVHCs) to be potentially restricted under the REACH regulations. The chemicals are: cadmium chloride; 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dihexyl ester, branched and linear; sodium peroxometaborate; sodium perborate, perboric acid, sodium salt. Among other things, the information requirements under Article 33 REACH therefore apply with immediate effect to all articles containing the said substances in a concentration above 0.1 (w/w).
